A short, shocking film about a 60-something Grandma working a phone sex line in a small town. As the audience watches this older woman work her daily routine, one can only wonder… is the phone sex industry as you always feared it really was? Nothing is as it seems. Winner of Best Comedy Film at the Nevada Film Festival.

Over a period of two years, filmmaker Jack Truman filmed his mother Opal, an ex-stripper who now makes a living as a phone sex operator. He says: “Most of the time people are nothing like you think they are. And people are afraid of truth. They are afraid to open their eyes, and see how things really are.
“My Mother, Opal was a stripper for over 20 years. As a child, I grew up in a very different environment. And today, 40 years later, when people look at Opal, she is nothing like she seems.”
This short film is part of a larger work called X Rated Grandma. Opal has also written a book about her experiences as a stripper.
